St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School

Live, Love, Believe.

What did I miss?

During the last two weeks of the term several things happened that I did not get a chance to publish online.  However I did not want them to go without celebrating them.

Christmas Carol Singing -  Thank you to everyone who came and sang at Morrisons raising £115.  Thank you to Morrisons for allowing us to do this.

Pantomine - The West Midlands Touring Theatre brought the joy of pantomine to the school with their production of Dick Whittington.  Thank you to all those parents who contributed to this.  The children were very enthusiastic about it.

Christmas Nativity - Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children led the Christmas Nativity this year and it was wonderful!  Thank you to everyone who came and to the staff for enabling it to happen.

Christmas Carols - This was done slightly differently this year.  God kept the rain away and although there was a nip in the air the evening was quite magical with the readings and carols setting the scene for our Christmas celebrations.  Thank you to Mr Jeremy for constructing the stable and organising the lights.  The hot chocolate from FOSTA was greatly appreciated.

Beauty and the Beast - 83 KS2 children visited Chichester Festival Theatre to watch this wonderful production.  The children were wonderful ambassadors for the school and received two compliments from members of the public about how they represented the school.  Thank you to those parents who helped get the children to the pier and from the pier.  Thank you to the staff and volunteers who gave up their time to enable the trip to happen.  Thank you to Mrs Chadwick who always has to the do the organising when I come up with these ideas!

Father Christmas - with his FOSTA Elves.

Father Christmas very kindly visited all the classes even though it was his busiest time of year.  I was lucky enough to be with Year 6 when they received their gifts.  Each one of them was thrilled to receive a Michael Morpurgo book.  Thank you to all who made this possible.

Mr Randini - One of our volunteer readers asked if she could pay for the children to have a magic show from Mr Randini.  I have written to her to thank her for this very kind gift and to share with her how much the children thoroughly enjoyed his visit.
