Sadness in London

This weekend has seen London suffering through the actions of three people.  Nationally there will be a minutes silence for the victims of the weekend's events.  We will be observing this silence within a school worship.  Whilst we will not go into details we will say that we are thinking about those affected by the unkind actions of people in London.

We will be using this prayer with our children and you may wish to say it together in your families with the children.

Jesus bid us shine with a pure clear light

Like a little candle burning in the night;

In this world of darkness so we must shine,

you in your small corner and I in mine.

If we are aware of children being upset we will share that with their families.  We know that it is important not to dwell or over expose children to the anxieties that come with such events.  We are also aware that each family will have explained to their children the amount that they want the children to know.  The school is keen to work with families in these areas whilst still marking the responses such as a minutes silence because the children the,selves ask for these, or question the absence of them.

As always please speak to staff at school if you have any questions.
